Spring Trends & Fave Products!!!!

I decided to spend a few minutes today sharing some hair tips and some of my fave products. A client asked me some of these questions yesterday so I thought I'd pass it on!

Kenra Silkening Mist $16- This is a super lightweight shine mist. Good for all hair types including really fine hair. Its not your typical shine spray its soooo much better! Doesn't get greasy or weighed down. Seals split ends, controls frizz, and protects from styling appliances.

Wella Color Preserve Shampoo $15- the best shampoo I have found for saving your hair color! Contains vitamin B-5 and apricot oil to seal the hair cuticle. Preserves color 78% longer than any other color preserving shampoo. If you want to keep red, its a must-have.

Redken Body Full Instant Bodifier $16- really nice spray in foam. Especially great for baby-fine hair. Spray on towel-dried hair at the root area and style as usual.

I recently checked some of the hair trends for Spring. Seems the big loose waves are finally taking a much-needed break from the runway shows. FINALLY! Creative buns and chignons are the way to go this Spring!  Hair accessories are also making a big comeback so pull out all your feathers, headbands & hair clips!!

Oh and will someone PLEASE tell Lacoste to do something other than ponytails for their runway shows!! Just because you teased the ponytail this year doesn't mean you stepped out of the usual box. Its still a ponytail!!

Here are some of my faves--

Alt Noir Photo Shoot

This is my first official blog post to my site! I'm hoping to keep it updated a few times per month. I'd love to start posting news and info on what I'm up to, hair tips, weekly specials we have at the salon, and any special events I have coming up.

Got to do a great photo shoot yesterday for Alt Noir Magazine. The entire crew was fantastic- beautiful clothes, awesome makeup, great photographer and the model had as pretty a personality as she was on the outside! It has been a while since I've done a great shoot like that. I don't have the flexible schedule that used to allow me to work on more projects like this one since I'm now in the salon about 50 hours a week. Its really nice to be able to let my creative side out of its box once in a while- keeps me from getting bored and in a rut. I'll be publishing the pics on the site as soon as I get them and hopefully I don't get too impatient. From what I could tell they turned out amazing and look to be some of my absolute favorite so far!

On another note- yesterday 2 of my stylists reached all of their goals to get promoted! Big congrats to Donna and Nicole!! I know they worked hard to get it so I'm extreeeemely happy for them! Along with my skin therapist Betsy who was promoted in January!

I have a pretty strong team at the salon and they have all improved leaps and bounds compared to when we opened just over a year ago. I recently starting looking for new stylists to add to the team and have a new girl starting on Tuesday. I'm hoping by the fall to have 1-2 more stylists join the salon as we seem to get busier every month.

Get in touch and let me know what you think of the new blog! If you have ideas of what you'd like to see here please reach out and I'll do my best!

Thanks,

Robin
